Hot tubbing Ducks!

Side Note: My husband put a small 3x3 foot pond in our backyard for our goldfish last summer. It's small! But a Blue Heron did manage to find it last summer and eat all our fish!

Me: Um, Hello Mr. Duck. Welcome to my backyard. You're kinda far from a lake.
Mr. Duck: I'm here for the hot tub!
Me: What hot tub??

Mrs. Duck: Yoo hoo honey, over here! The water is warm!
Me: That is too small for you two!

Mrs. Duck: That's what you think!

Mr. Duck: Uh, can we have a little privacy here?

It seems that mallards will find any patch of water, no matter how small.

Them birds are hilarious! It seems that they are drawn to water like I'm drawn to my Hot Tub. I'd like to put a small pond in my back yard. Where did you get your pumps and filters?

I thought about putting a fish pond in the yard until someone told me about heron's thinking it's their own personal breakfast bar. Your ducks quacked me up!

I hope you played mood music, lit some candles for them and gave them the privacy they asked for...
Although it might have been tight in there for some romantic maneuvering!!

Thank you everyone for your comments and stopping by! These 2 ducks hung out the whole morning - I think they must've needed a rest. It was enjoyable to watch them use my small little pond. Who would've thought?!! :-)

I checked out your link. At least you did get a nice photo of the Great Blue. I have seen some people put fish netting above the water. Hopefully this year you can enjoy the pond (with fish) and the Great Blue.

Shelly: What a neat story of your duck jacuzzi. Glad you found a way to feed the herons. I think its great that they know where they can find a free meal.

I called Gordon in from the kitchen to look at this. ADORABLE!!!!!

A Barred owl ate all the goldfish in our pond when we lived in BC. They were LARGE fish and it was very tragic! :) But the owl was gorgeous.

Your ducks stopped by my place - got a couple of pictures too!
