So I've been thinking....thinking a lot about my bird blogging friends. Thinking, wouldn't it be great if some of us could get together for a birding adventure? Maybe attend a birding festival this spring?
And depending on who was interested, we could pick a middle ground. Since I live in Michigan, I am thinking of a Mid-west state. What do you think? Would you come? Do you have any ideas? Have you done something like this before? Email me: shelleyupnorth at gmail dot com. (Hoping to hear from Kelly, Heather, Betsy, Hannibal, Eve, Dawn, Mildred, Jen, Richard, Lynne, Joan, Jayne and many more.....)

I know this would be a ton of fun. John and I love your photos tonight - so cute! We had a Carolina wren to get in our garage this week (out of the snow) We finally convinced him to leave. They are such charismatic little fellas!
Interesting...I'll have to see what works out.
You all should come down to Lake Erie for the Biggest Week In American Birding, held in May. Sponsored by the Black Swamp Bird Observatory. Google them for more info. Can you say warblers?
I love birdwatching and your idea sounds like a great one. Beautiful pics today of the chickadee. They are the sweetest :) Thank you for visiting Verde Farm today. Come back anytime.

Love your photos, Shelley... I think there's a birding festival somewhere in West Virginia in the spring.. I don't have the details --but have heard bloggers talk about it... Keep me posted---if this works out... It would be so much fun.
Hugs,
Betsy
Your Chickadee shots are really great. I won't be able to attend, but you guys have fun with your birding get together! And take a lot of pictures to share with us.
If only I lived nearer Shelley, you could count me in too. What a great idea.
Something I've often thought about doing over here myself. It would be a great day meeting up with blogging friends.
Imagine a World Bird Blog Meet.
Awesome!
What a beautiful shot of a chickadee. First class. Unfortunately I couldn't come on your birding trip. Because I don't walk too well and have vertigo. I stick to smooth foot paths and usually my patio or from my car window.
I guess NH is kind of out of the question . . . LOL! I can hardly wait to hear the birds singing again in the morning!
Hey Shelley! I know there are a good number of people going to the Midwest Birding Symposium in Lakeside, OH in September.

I want to build up the courage to attend one of these great events, but truly the thought of flying into a nearby city I've never been to and then renting a car and finding my way is a bit (OK, more than a bit) intimidating to me.
What your are suggesting sounds like it would be so great; however, I am not sure I would be able to come. However....it would be so much fun to meet some of these neat people whose blogs I have been following for some time now. I'll be watching to see what develops.
Your pictures make me realize I need to start doing some blogging again myself. I've been doing a lot of sewing lately and been content to read the blogs of others.
I'd love to join you all guys, but I'm living a bit far away ;-) I hope you get it done and get fun... Your pictures are as usually very nice...
Gorgeous pics of the sweetest little birds of all - the chickadees! I just love them.
Great idea - we're in the U.P. so keep us posted.
These Chickadee photos are beautiful!!
Those are lovely shots : )
Oh if I lived closer I would come! I saw the most amazing birds in Hawaii. They have a unique cardinal there, many , many little doves everywhere, plus mynah birds and the Banyan trees are alive with the fluttering of white pigeons and birdsong.
Our place has 2 different Grosbeaks, many finches, goldfinches, juncos, jays, wild doves, nut hatches,Western Tanagers, ..... all I need is a better camera to capture them. If you stand at my kitchen counter you can see most of these birds as they eat sunflower seeds from the feeder attached to the outer kitchen window frame.
Great photo capturing this little feathered bundle!
You must have powerful camera - these are marvelous!
Fantastic pictures, Shelley! :D
Your bird outing sounds like so much fun. Love the pics here-they are wonderful.
Super sweet Chickadee photos, Shelley!
I think that sounds like a lovely idea. There's a marsh area in NW Ohio that's supposed to be a great spring migratory birding spot. For the life of me, I can't think of the name of it right now.
I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoy your photography. I live in Sydney, Australia and we don't get chickadees here. It gives me such pleasure to see them. They are adorable. Thank you.
Super idea ... just wish I lived closer ... maybe someday I'll cross the pond again. FAB.
These photos are spectacular....I'm in Florida, count me out.....sigh
Stunnig images.
john.
Shelley, I'll email you, but I see someone has already suggested the Midwest Birding Symposium. It's not until September, but it would probably be a short drive for you! Talk to you soon!
I am backreading posts because I was behind and I must have missed this one...Yes I would definitely be interested in doing something like that next spring...where are you thinking of going????
