Looking for birds

I didn't find any woodpeckers this day, but I did get to admire their handiwork below.

What a fun walk you must have had... I love walking in the woods after it snows... The snow on the evergreens is just so pretty.

Sorry the birds were hiding from you.
Hugs,
Betsy

Woodpeckers would be hard-pressed to conceal themselves for long, since they make a lot of noise and leave a lot of evidence in getting their meals. We have several kinds of woodpeckers frequenting our place and they are fascinating, aren't they? Flashy too.

Hi Shelley. I usually hear Woodies more often than I see them. Somebody sure has been busy. FAB.

That tree looks like the "Dew Drop In" for woodpeckers!

Neat pictures, Shelley! They definitely left their mark behind, didn't they? HA! :D

Wow! Have they started using power tools? (Grin). I still remember a couple that used to work over a tin roof on the woodshed. They have a lot of 'beak power'..

Lovely! When the birds are hiding you have to photograph what's there.

I agree with Elaine...when I take a walk I bring my camera and shoot what's there :-)
I like your pics of the trees, though. A walk in the forest sounds lovely to me.

With all that snow I'd be hiding too.

All the woodpeckers in our area are getting very, from finding food to finding "friends." I like to watch them as they seem to be patient, quietly moving forward and up each selected tree. Your woodland photos are inviting. I'm glad I stumbled onto your blog.

What kind of woodpecker do you think it is?

I saw quite a few woodpeckers in Florida last week. Maybe they are snowbirds like many of the people native to Minnesota?

Hi Shelley~ That is some handiwork :-) We love the woodpeckers and have a few that stop by the suet baskets on a daily basis in our yard.
