Fiddler on the Roof

If you've visited my blog before, then you know my Chickadees are pretty tame up at our log cabin. Some of them will land on my shoulders or head to scold me and a few will eat out of my hand.

Recently I have a chickadee that has the same M.O. He dive bombs me from the roof! I'll be filling the feeders and all the while he's watching me silently from his roof perch. Then when I least suspect it, he lands on my head scolding me (probably telling me to hurry up) and then heads to the feeder. Once he grabbed a seed and came back to try to eat it on my head. Lately he likes to perch on the roof and scold me. Here's a shot of my little Fiddler Chickadee......moments before the attack! (And yeah, I love it!)

So cute! We can't get ours that tame..they will land nearby but not too close when Paul brings out the feed and they will talk to him, but they won't come to his hand. We will keep trying though!~ ha
How'd you like that balmy Michigan weather today? It was 54 up here in the U.P.! Hey, are you on Facebook? if so, friend request me, ok? xxoo

Hi Shelley,
Love that cute little Chickadee! Mine are not tame, but they are not as afraid of me as some of the other birds. He's a favorite!

That sounds like fun...I have never had one land on me, but they sure announce to the whole woods that "She's here and she's got food!"

Shelley, I love it! The shot of that chickadee is great. I once had a chickadee follow me from window to window outside our two-story home . I still don't know why, for the feeder was full. But the little chickadee did this several days in a row. How did it know which room I was in to flutter around the window, and what did it want? I hoped to see this little bird again but if it came back it never did this again.Chickadees are loaded with personality and so fun to watch, as I see you appreciate fully.
