2 New Friends

I have two new friends! Would you like to meet them?

First is Mrs. Tree Swallow who is a welcome occupany in one of our bird houses. She's definitely the most calmest nesting bird I've ever witnessed.

2nd friend is the yellow warbler. First time I've seen one! Hopefully not the last.

So, have you made any new bird friends this summer?

It's been pretty quiet on the bird scene this summer,in part because I have not been very diligent in looking.

We've missed you Shelley!

Sweet pictures of your newest birds.

At our new house, we have lots of mockingbirds and just last week I saw our first hummer of the season.

Hi Shelley,
Nice to meet your new birds! We met a new one today, too. I had to search my bird books to see that it was a female Summer Tanager! Fun!

That Tree Swallow is so cute. And so is the Warbler. I've never seen either one.
I haven't seen any new birds around here lately. I am seeing the new young ones though. Saw a young Cardinal one day and now the Sparrows. Not sure what kind.

Hey Shelley The tree swallows are in the bluebird house here too. They're entitled as they eat a lot of mosquitoes. :)

Two good finds! I actually saw a Yellow Warbler fleetingly this afternoon in our backyard. No photos yet.

We think our tree swallows must have already hatched their young. Normally after the 4th of July we don't see them anymore, and that is getting closer! I've not seen that type of warbler except on photos! Thanks for sharing it (lucky woman). How are the loons this year??

What beautiful photos of the swallow and warbler. So fun, the bird watching this time of year. I had a Mountain Chickadee in my nesting box for the first time. And my favorite, the American Goldfinch and the Lesser goldfinch have been feeding at my feeders. I have fed them for a year with no luck until now! So fun.

Sometimes you really have to look for the warblers. They are small and fast, plus move up high in the canopy.the grosbeak would be fun to have, I only get a few visitors.

I really like the picture of the Tree Swallow in the Bluebird house. It's like she/he's saying, "It's our house now."

Two pretty birds!

Lovely photos! New birds for me this year have been a Lesser Yellowleg and a Three-toed Woodpecker. The Gray Jays brought their fledglings to our feeders, and that was the first time I had seen the young ones.
