Tree Swallow Chicks

My babies have hatched! I'm not ashamed to say that I almost had tears of joy in my eyes as I saw these little heads popping out the house.

Here's a closer peek - isn't his face sweet?

And here's mama (or papa) coming to feed them. Nature is miraculous.

I felt the same Shelley, when little Blue Tits hatched out in my nest box.
Fascinating to watch them; lovely shot of the little wide open mouths :-)

How fun to have babies! Our Mountain Chickadees have left the bird house already. So many babies flying around the yard now. So fun!

I have very similar photos of my violet-green swallow babies from last year...they are a hoot to watch.

The house sparrows got this year's first batch of eggs (drat, and double drat). I am hoping for the best on this second try.

There is nothing quite as sweet as baby birds with their mouths wide open. Wonderful photos!

These are adorable!!! We THINK we've got one nest box that has hatched. And the one behind the bedroom, I'm beginning to think she is alone. I only see one bird ever at that box. And she's usually peaking her head out of the hole (I'm assuming it is a SHE!)
