Only in Michigan could we have 2 feet of snow one day and then two days later it's melted, sunny and 65 degrees! I am excited for my spring birds but am sad to see one of my winter friends leave - the Common Redpoll. How about you? Who will you miss?

What a lovely little visitor, I always enjoy the visits from a few who come south here. The eagles are heading north here now.
Great picture, Shelley! I don't think I've ever seen that kind of bird before. We suddenly have warmer temperatures here too. :)
Hi Shelley, glad to see you blog.
That is a lovely bird where will he go?
Actually, I didn't have any feeder birds all winter - just don't get that - the feeders were full of fresh seed, etc. Crazy weather. Nice photo of the Redpoll.
I love these little guys. I just recently had a small flock of Redpolls show up at my feeders. It has been too quiet around the feeders this winter.
A great photograph. I'm looking forward to the phoebes who arrive like clockwork each year. They've nested im my garage for the last 11 years.
Lovely photo of the Redpoll. I have 5 or 6 dozen flocking around my feeders right now, and there will still be some around in the summer. I won't be missing any birds, just gaining all those flying north to nest here in Alaska. Come next August though I will be missing many of your winter birds.
I haven't seen a red poll before either.Looks a lot like the red finches we have in abundance at our feeders all year long.
I am not sure we miss any birds but the hummingbirds in the fall. Some of the birds the bird books say should be gone come winter not only stay throughout winter, but the rest of the year too.Only come spring, there seem to be more of them.
He is pretty...I had some of those here the first year I started taking pictures of birds, but haven't seen one since.
We have so many visitors from all over, here it's nest building season. As much as I love hearing and seeing the birds, right outside my bed room window early in the morning, do you think someone can tell them to keep the noise down Great photo Shelly, AS ALWAYS :-) X X X
The winter Thushes will be departing northwards here very soon but then we wait for the Warblers to arrive from the south to add their songs to the morning chorus.
I will miss the snow buntings. This weather is too weird. It's supposed to be 78F here tomorrow. The normal is more like 38F!!! OUr red-winged blackbirds, robins and grackles all came back early. In fact robins have started overwintering around here.
Fantastic colorful photo! Love the complimentary background to isolate this bird!
What a sweet little bird!
