Common Mergansers

Every spring, the Common Mergansers make a pit stop on my little lake in Northern Michigan. This year they didn't disappoint.

They are such pretty birds! It's always nice to see the birds as they migrate through. Sadly the Mergansers don't migrate this far north, but I've been enjoying seeing the Canada Geese and Trumpeter Swans and am looking forward to more varieties arriving shortly.

Hi Shelly. Very nice species to have passing through. I was lucky to see 4 very early in the New Year.

We live between two small neighborhood duck ponds, and often have ducks stop by when passing through on their way to southern Arkansas duck areas near Stuttgart.
