Blue Jay enjoying the bird bath

After an extremely noisy entrance into the yard which caused the sparrows, finches and mourning doves to scatter - my outgoing Blue Jay enjoyed the bird bath.

Beautiful bird. Living in the west I have never seen one of these. Great shot.

Stunning photo!! I enlarged it so I could look at the details of his feathers. Just beautiful. I've seen one jumping around my yard the last few days.

Stacey - coming from you - a true compliment - thank you!

Jessica - Thank you! They are so hard to photograph too - they shy away so easily from people.

Sandy - thanks very much. Still trying to learn how to use my camera!

Gorgeous picture! They are so common around here that we tend to take them for granted, but they really are one of our most beautiful birds.

Sandpiper - you're right about taking them for granted - but then you see all the blue jays amazing blue color.

J. Karl - thank you! I have 2 birdbaths set up - so hoping the action continues.

Birdlady - you're right about the pond. When my husband has the spray fountain going in our tiny one- I see them flying thru.

Birdgirl - thank you - I think he's handsome too!
