A Cardinal's search

I waited and watched for my little cardinal friend to find a seed on the ground. He was intimidated off the feeder by the Grackle. The cardinal walked around the wood chips searching and shortly thereafter he did find himself a big sunflower seed to crunch on.

This is a great photo to enlarge and look at the detail. I just love his feathers. He's brillant. And look at the way his little feet are clutching that stick. Isn't bird watching the greatest!!??

Very prety photo of the male Northern Cardinal.-I don't often capture a good photo of one outside of those that visit the feeder.-Nicely done!

Grackles do seem to be rather rude. They just don't seem to play well with other birds. Great pic!

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my blog. Good photo of the Cardinal. The habitat in my area is less then ideal, so I only get to see them on occasion at the feeder.

Great photo of the cardinal, I've been hearing one calling in my neighborhood but I haven't seen him yet. I also enjoyed your loon video, it reminds me of last summer when I was photographing them on a local lake.

Jessica - I agree - birdwatching is the greatest! It's opened up a whole new world for me!

Larry - Thank you and I hope you get a photo of the cardinal soon!

J. Karl - Yes - my Grackles are rude, I have to shoo them away sometimes to give the other birdies fair shot at the feeder.

Mike - Thank you for visiting. Your blog is a great find!

John - thanks for coming by! Loons are my fave!
