Great shot! I do so love all the woodpeckers.
Great pictures. The Woodpeckers add just that little bit of color we need this time of the year.
Excellent detail! I kinda love the female red-belly more than the male. Is that so wrong?
Wow! Such impressive photos! You do such a fabulous job. :D
Have a great weekend, Shelley!
Beautiful photos! great colours
Wow! What a beautiful bird. I've always wanted to see a woodpecker. Thank you.
Great shot, although Miss Manners might not approve of the size of that 'bite"!
Both your chickadee below and you red-bellied here are lucky to have you to provide a feast in the cold weather...
Gotta love those Redbellys...I do not get the female as often as the male so I enjoyed seeing yours. She's a might skinnier I think than the male. She sure got a big bite...makes your little saying even more meaningful.yum!
I think we're starting a theme here!!
The quote is fun...If I was a better cook I would agree with it!!! hahahaha
Now that's a good-looking bird! I like your quote, too. :-)
Great quote and equally great pictures.
Blessings,Ruth
Nice Photos..thanks for sharing
Shelley, This is PETUNIA... Did you recognize her?????? Yeah!!!
Hugs,
Betsy
Great photo! I have been hearing one of these guys off and on all day and can't get close enough to photograph him. One of these days I will get to a store to find some birdfeeding supplies!
Hi Shelley
You get such great light in your photos and they're always lovely and sharp. Something I need to aspire to! (-:
Great shots of this Woody Shelley. I keep hoping one of those will stray up here, after all, its not impossible seeing as this winter , we've already had two rarities :-)
Love that photo!! I only see this critter in my yard once a month so I am always looking for him on other peoples blogs because I love the red bellied so much.
What a close up...that beak is impressive!! Great shots, Shelly! Beautiful!
GORGEOUS red-bellied woodpecker pics, Shell. I loooove your artistry. You know how to snap a great pic!!! You're delightful. :D
Hugs, JJ
Wow...those are terrific shots! That's quite a mouthful the greedy thing has :-) Lovely color and detail.
This is excellant photography!
Good shot here! I too love watching the woodpeckers. I have read that with the exception of the sapsuckers that woodpeckers are beneficial to our woodlands. Beneficial or not they really liven up the gray woodlands of winter.
BTW: I loved your 3rd B-day pic, you were just too cute :)
Now that's one handsome woodpecker. Great shot!
Oh, she's spectacular Shelley!!
Hey, I have that suet feeder!
Gorgeous, gorgeous photos...
Shelly: Great photo of a neat woodpecker. Those are great captures.
Oh, I so envy you for being able to get a shot like that! Stunning!
Brenda
Hi Shelly
As always fantastic photo's.
Love to drop in here and see the birds. Great work. No penquins?
Ha ha
We have two kinds of woodpeckers in the garden, but I could never photgraph them as you do here. Great
xx Michele
opps I'm at the bottom of the page huh... again!!!
Just wonderful!
We love the red bellied Woodpeckers that visit our garden too. What a great shot!
Thank you so much to everyone stopping by and leaving comments! This feisty female red bellied is now visiting my yard on a daily basis. And like Hannibal - I like the female redbellied more than a male - for some reason she just seems more feisty! Shellmo
Love these photos and the ones above!
WOW...that's an awesome closeup. I find it extremely challenging to get close to this beauty in the wild...Thomas
You are so correct. You should see the grandson gobble up his food. Been thinking exactly what you said here.
These are so good! The woodpeckers are such great subjects, everybody loves them. (Except the people that have trouble with them wanting to make holes in the side of their houses.)
These shots of the red belly are absolutely spectacular!
