Feeling nutty...

I love how the huthatches hang out with the Chickadees at the bird feeders. The chickadees have been quite bold and like to land on my head as I fill the feeders.

The leaves are at about 75%. Fall has been slow in coming. I'm looking forward to my winter bird arrivals!

I would love to have the birds land on me, as long as they don't poop on me!! I don't see Nuthatches here but love the Chickadees. The fall foliage and the lake are very beautiful.

I love the angle on the lake/foliage shot. Our nuthatches, chickadees and tufted titmice have been busily feeding. I haven't had any land on me, but they swoop awfully close.

...gosh!! You're so lucky to have the chickadees landing on your head. That must feel fantastic! The lake and trees are so beautiful. I'm waiting for our winter visitors too!!

That's wild about the birds landing on your head! Pretty anxious, aren't they??!! Beautiful scenery around the lake.

I love the Nuthatches too, Shelley. We have them --along with the Chickadees and Tufted Titmice. Seems like they are all together.

Great picture of your Fall colors.
Hugs,
Betsy

Beautiful pictures as usual, Shelley!
I had two nuthatches at the feeder at the same time, a first for me! I have had more titmice than anything! Lots of chick-a-dees, but none has landed on my head!!! Now that would be cool.

Hi Shelley,
Very nice post and I love both the nuthatch and the trees shots! Here the leaves are already on the ground and winter is almost there... Already dark and cold!

We had a very hard frost and two snowfalls and that "burnt" the colored leaves and they are either all brown now or fallen off. I swear it seemed to happen overnight! I am sad to see the loss of our bright colors up here.

Great nuthatch pic, Shelley! I really wish we had those guys at our place...only very infrequent visitors in the winter-time. Glad your birds are coming back, and chickadees landing on your head no less!!!

Super cute nuthatch Shelly and lovely fall foliage. Nothing is prettier than colorful foliage with water and blue sky.

I spent some time on our local lake today, no photos as it was dismal and raining but the highlight of the day was encountering my first loon since they passed through here in the spring.

Have a great weekend.

I wish my chickadees were that bold and I'm always happy to see a nuthatch. Great shot!

I saw a nuthatch today. It was sitting right beside the little bird house where 2 of them had babies this past Spring. I wonder if it could of been the same one!

Shelley: Two beautiful captures from your area. Confession: Until I started blogging I didn't know the difference between a nuthatch and chickadee.
