No complaining about the grosbeaks--what gorgeous birds! I just looked out to see six male cowbirds on the platform feeder. I'd trade you for grosbeaks any day!
Well they are beautiful birds and I will not complain neither if I had a nice family like this around my garden, and even best around my feeders... Let's hope everything will go fine for this nice family and thanks for sharing this nice nature moment with us ;-)
Oh i forgot to tell you that I posted a subject that might be interesting for you ;-)
To asnwer you, yes the red-throated diver has the same kind of call, but a little bit less loud thought ;-)
Lovely shots Shelley.
I've got Goldfinches like that.....always at the feeders lol
Hope they come back here in the Fall when they head back south, Shelley... I love seeing them --even if it is only a couple of times a year. they usually stay about a week or so when they do come.
You captured some great pictures of your HOGS... ha
Hugs,
Betsy
Beautiful shots Shelley!
This is a total and complete shock. My two Grosbeaks slip in & out hardly noticable. On the other hand the house finches and mouring doves gobble all day long.
Ah, they just know they've found a good spot to hang out with a friend that will keep them supplied with good food for their babies. The bonus is you get lots of entertainment watching such a cute family.
We haven't seen a male RB grosbeak in about a month! We see the females. And our tree swallows took off out of here about 10 days ago! They normally don't leave till July 4th!
Before they eat you out of house and home, send them to my place. They are so pretty.
Blessings,Ruth
Fantastic photos, Shelley! Very pretty birds. I really like that first picture.
Aren't they beautiful!! All of our birds have been gluttons lately, too...maybe the hot weather made them too lazy to get food other than at our convenient buffets? Our finches have been eating thistle like crazy which is expensive too!!!
...your'e so lucky you have nesting Grosbeaks! They are gorgeous. As yet, not one has ever visited our yard. :-(
Rose-breasted Grosbeaks are aglow with color, even the young. Thanks for sharing these awesome shots of them.
BlessYa
We don't get to see this bird much here. Love the photo

Such beautiful birds. I've only ever seen one in our back yard.
I had a female coming to my feeders weeks ago, but have not seen her nor a male since. I am jealous and would like to request a time share for them? :c)
Nice pictures! I love Grosbeaks.
I love them too. We always look forward to seeing them during spring and fall migrations. Lucky you to have them nesting.
Mine aren't at the feeders constantly but I do love that flash of red from the Male and the Female is just as pretty. Nice shots! enjoy them...
They look so anxious there Shelley, as if you're about to take those feeders away!!! (-:
Beautiful photos Shelly! I'd rather have those kind of birds than the darn Starlings eating all the food.
Ah, they are among my fav birds in the garden. Beautiful photos, Shelley!
It's great that you get them all season. They come by very sparcely around here!
I only see them in the spring, but they do seem to eat a lot. Goldfinches do, too.
