Is it just me, or does this Evening Grosbeak look mad at me? Which reminds me, last week at school I had two Canadian geese chase me across campus hissing at me. Seriously - isn't bird lover written all over my face???
(P.S. Chris from Iceland - please leave your blog address in the comments. I lost your site - thank you!!!)

He does look a little grumpy, but it is still a gorgeous shot.
Just a grosbeak look I would guess, gorgeous pic, I would love to see one. I have Rose-breasted around me, and always enjoy seeing them.
How beautiful....I've never seen anything like him around here. Really neat picture!

Great photo!
Terrific shot! He's beautiful.
Hahaha! He looks quite upset with you, Shelley! Maybe he doesn't like having his picture taken. :-D Great shot!
Oh, yes, he definitely looks mad--but I think that's the Grosbeak equivalent of a smile. Love the shot! And you've got to watch out for those Canadian Geese--they can be vicious! I'm guessing you didn't pause to take their photo!
Greetings from Oman!!!
Great capture…will be back for more:)
Shantana
Clearly cases of mistaken identity. They don't know the real Shelly. :)
It looked mad at you yes... What did you do? Maybe he did not want you to take a picture of him!!! It was maybe a spy grosbeak ;-) Gorgeous shot Shelley!
What a great pose :-)
A gorgeous shot, Shelley!!

Shelley, I am new to your blog and a fellow birder / photographer in Canton, Michigan. I am amazed with the variety of birds you've captured. May I ask if you are located near my area (western Wayne County)? I am curious as to whether I stand a ghost of a chance of photographing as many beautiful birds as you have. Love what I've seen so far and look forward to more!
More wonderful shots since my last visit!
He reminds me very much of a Cardinal's gaze. Mostly serious and direct but not mad.
Thats a beautiful bird
