We still have tons of Chickadees, Tufted Titmice and Nuthatches at our feeders. I've neglected taking their picture lately --since I had done so many before. I love them all though.
How funny....I kept thinking this looks like 2 different types of birds. I kept looking back and forth, then I saw your tags and see I was right. Both great for your title. Hope you two are enjoying the cabin this weekend so you can show us your loons. They seem to be avoiding the camera this year.
Two of my favorite birds! The Nuthatches are so darned comical. They're at my peanut feeder on the deck all the time .. hanging upside down, spreading their wings, lying down, and just basically trying to be bullies but they aren't very successful! I just love em!
Shelley, we seem to have many of the same birds, and we live so very far apart. Your photography is amazing. The expressions you catch on the bird faces and in their eyes goes beyond the average.
Great photos of those pretty little birds. I haven't seen any Black-Capped Chickadees this summer. They are probably somewhere near water. I do see my Nuthatch now and then and yesterday my Tufted Titmouse was here for a minute. Haven't seen him around much either. Now it's getting very hot and I feel sorry for them if they can't find water. But I'm sure there is a neighbor close by that has a bird bath. I keep water on the ground every day for the other critters but the birds don't use it. Maybe the Bluejays now and then. Have a nice weekend Shelly!
If it weren't for the hummingbirds and mourning doves (and a few jays) we wouldn't be seeing many birds in our yard. I don't know where they all have gone!! Kind of scary! The photos are very good; shows them in their "comical mood"!
HI Shelley, Excellent. it looks like there was something quite interesting down there.... We have the red-breasted nuthatch in Europe but not the white one.
. Since you are on my blogroll, you know I like your blog. I Like the great photos and writeups.
Nuthatches are a favorite.
