Spring time means my Loons are coming back soon!
I can't wait to hear their haunting cry across the lake.
I can't wait to see them run across the lake faster than a jet plane on a runway.
I can't wait until they sit on their nest again.
I can't wait till they have babies and I start stressing out and yelling at every boater to watch out.

I love them and not just because they are out "state bird." Thay haunting cry at night reminds me of many days spent in the Boundary Waters. Once one followed us all the way across a lake as we paddled. :)
I hope you get lots of pictures this year. The Loons usually stop at our lake for a week or so in spring.
Blessings,Ruth
We only get to hear the loons when we leave the Cities and head UP NORTH.
Enjoy them for me. please, until I get to hear them in June.
This is an awesome photo Shelley. I was just thinking how great it is to have been blogging long enough now to know each others hobbies and passions. I always remember your love of the Loons.
Oh, Gawd....what a GORGEOUS photo of one, Shelley! I love their call, too...we hardly ever get any on our lake but I found some last year on another inland lake and stole some shots...I was so thrilled.
I hope you get some more too, this spring...!
Gosh, how quickly time passes and they will soon be back just for you. FAB.
I can't wait to see more of your gorgeous photos of the loons! This one is fabulous!

I can just imagine how wonderful it must be to hear the Loons for the first time every year. Such a joyous sound! I'd be willing to bet they are just as happy to be back as you are to have them back.

You are a gem on the Internet!!!
I have been walking around while the blanket of snow melts and enjoying the sense of freedom once more. Soon green buds will delight the eye!

A beautiful, dramatic photo!
Great picture and I also dream about their return. It is amazing what the return of spring birds can do for us humans.
Gorgeous picture! I love the sound a loon makes - it's so raw - but beautiful at the same time.
Gosh, Shelley, do I hear a tad bit of impatience for Spring and all that it brings in that post? You just posted what everyone is feeling and you did it in such a nice way, too! I can't wait for you to see those loons and for us to see your photos!! I so hope you get some pics of those babies this year!
Shelley: Beautiful capture of a neat bird.
...beautiful photo of the loon. I can't wait until you start hearing them again too, because we get to see photos of them! This has been a very long winter...spring...hurry up!
I will never see or hear a loon in a movie without thinking of you. I hope someday to see a loon in person.
Ahhhhhh, beautiful!
You long for the loons as I do the hummers! Awwww, Spring!

I feel your excitement! They should be up North soon, I spotted one a few days ago in the Chicago area. This year however, I did not hear them call.

Anyway expect them soon!
