Ha ha ha! He is looking a little ragged. Ours are just starting to turn yellow but are still more on the brownish side.

Great picture. Looks like the molt is about over. Hasn't seen anythng but females here so far.

Cute shot! Mine get more yellow every day, but they still look a bit unkempt.

Never fails - when you're having a real bad-feather day (or days) there's always someone around with a camera!

The colors in your pictures are wonderful! I think I need a new camera.... Your ducks were on vacation here in Florida on my Sunday post - are they back in Michigan yet?

Our Goldfinch are looking much less respectable for the upcoming dating season! I've caught a few on my camera out the kitchen window yesterday. They're posted today on my blog.

Wow...even though he is having a bad hair day, it still mut have been a thrill to see him at the feeder.
We haven't seen any of them here. But man, are we going through the thistle with the pine siskins. I'll need to have a bottle drive or spaghetti feed fund raiser pretty soon to keep up with it. :-D

The Goldfinches haven't arrived here yet. I still have a few Redpolls though. Nice shot of him peeking around the sock at you.

That's how I look first thing in the morning too! (except for the bright yellow) Now if you get a goldfinch eating out of your hand, THAT will be a coup!

They look rather pitiful as they are molting, don't they? :c)

I don't even have any goldfinches yet Shelley...they are on strike because of the snow!!

Another great photo although the goldfinch told me you took the shot before she had finished her grooming. Really Shelley show a little respect....LOL Sharon

Ours are getting yellow, some of them faster than others. We have a couple whose molt is complete and they are beautiful. Others are still a bit ragged.

Great photograph. You catch the neatest expressions.

Love the shot of the goldfinch. Mine look about the same.

Da Yooper finches are still pretty darn dull. But yours gives us hope!

Our male Goldfinches are molting also, Shelley. They are not the prettiest bird in the nest these days---but they will be SOON..

Great photo.

Betsy

It just occurred to me that my comment may appear in the wrong light.

The goldfinch is shabby looking but still pretty, hence "Pretty" Shabby.

A joke gone bad.

Is that what he really said..he looks a little more ornery than that..lol
Great shot..what a look!!

Haha! Ours are in transition too, although today I saw an almost perfect summer goldfinch.

What a great shot!! They are such pretty little birds. I don't see many though. Maybe because I have too many BlueJays around? I did see one or two in their winter colors this past winter. Hope I see them again.

No need to get your feathers all ruffled! HA!

I love the yellow of goldfinches--so pretty.
