Junco or vacuum?

On the way to fill the bird feeders, I spilled some thistle all over my door mat. On the way back I watched this Junco picking through it like a vacuum cleaner. He's a cute little fella, isn't he? :)

SUPER COOL!!!! I have a frog on my blog from yesterday. I am so jealous of how you can capture out feathered friends.

Thanks for sharing - happy spring to you!

I love the spunky Juncos...He's giving you the "eye"...

I have a chipmunk who sucks up birdseed off the deck railing like a vacuum, until his cheeks almost pop!!!
When I discuss your photos w/ my huband now, I refer to you as the "Bird Whisperer Lady"...we both admire your photos!

That Junco is precious... I'm sure you had nothing much left to clean up, did you?????

I saw a group of Juncos in March when we had that big ice storm at Mt Nebo in Arkansas. I put out sunflower seed on one of those icy mornings--and the Juncos came in big groups...They looked so cold!!!!

Hugs,
Betsy

Love the Juncos! We used to call these 'snow birds'! These little darlings are hard to photograph.

In the winter that is all I see, is the Juncos. And a few others but I have lots of these little guys. Little birds flit around so fast that it is hard to catch them. Very nice photos!!

You have the best blog! I have to come and see what birds are at your house! We are having cardinals and pretty little yellow finches in abundance. I hear our resident owls every night now too. One sunny days I open the door to the deck and let the singing in!

Now that is very cute! They manage to find the tiniest bits to eat. Nice shots!

The answer is C, all of the above. Cute birdie!

Those are great shots of him! I seldom get a good junco shot for some reason. They are always on the ground in the middle of a mess of seeds. I think he wants you to spill a bit more seed next time.

He is cute and they sure don't miss anything!

Cute and helpful! Do they do it inside as well, and does your junco have friends? :-)

I trust you paid him for claening up your mess! Lol FAB

Cute little guy and so helpful. I've always had a soft spot for juncos. So far the juncos haven't made it back to my part of Alaska. I'm watching for them and the first robin. I enjoyed looking back through some of your older posts. Your photos are outstanding! Thanks for visiting my blog and your kind comments.

Hi Shelley,
This is a very nice vaccuum cleaner. Where did you get it? I want the same ;-) And you got gorgeous pictures of it. Well done and brilliant idea!

I'd say stick with the junco. More fun to watch and less work for you. Unless he leaves a deposit that is...

Your new lens even picked up the fibers on the outside mat...so I think it couldn't be better!!

I love dark-eyed juncos. We have them in our yard, too, and they are some of the smallest but loudest birds around! It's so cute when they're singing their lungs out.

He is cute. I never did get a good photo of my winter visitors.
