Playing with my new camera lens

First off let me say I love my new Sigma Camera Lens. But it doesn't love me yet.... I did take it into the camera shop and embarrassingly it was user error! Sheesh! A kind professional photographer happened to be in the shop visiting and took pity on me as well as putting me on the right track. Hopefully. Anyways, here's a few practice shots....

Hi Shelley,
I would say that you already master it. These shots are great and the background homogenous with a lot of light. Just perfect. Did I miss the type of lens you got???

At what distance were you from the subject? Nice and clear pictures.

Oh Shelley, I love your new lens. WOW!!!! The bird pictures are just SO good---much better than mine (taking pictures through the glass and screen)... ha

Be careful with your new favorite bird, the Pine Siskin. Pretty soon, you could have about 100 or more of them at your feeders... Drove me crazy!!!!
Hugs,
Betsy

Shelley it looks as though your new lens is working quite well and that you have found your way around using it! Beautiful pictures, the detail is wonderful. Call me a little strange but I love looking at little bird feeties! I am thrilled that I found your blog.

Enjoy your Spring-ie Sunday!

Great pictures! I know you are having fun with that great lens. We saw a huge flock of those Red-Wing blackbirds the other day.

Glad to hear your lens is working! Both shots are good, but the Redwing photo is terrific. Keep up the good work. Exactly what did they tell you about the lens and how you were using it? I'm still thinking about buying one of those. Maybe could you respond on my blog, or right here in your comments? Thanks, Mona.

The two most dreaded phrases at the repair shop:
1.) User error
2.) Unable to duplicate problem

I'm sure you and the lens will work everything out. Lovely photographs.
