We have a collection of downey woodpeckers and a hairy male and female here from time to time but my suet is usually the fancy of some titmouse or chickadee. Your photography is priceless.

You are doing quite well with teh birds. Soon you will be giving good 'ol Abe a run for his money :)

Good luck with the tufted titmouse, I'm sure that if you keep working with them that someday one will sit on your hand.

I bet your birds just love you when you come to stay! They get taken care of so well! You are a good foster mom to them!

Was going to get a suet plug holder but decided to make my own (actually two). Nothing fancy. I'll just pack the holes with Zick Dough and when one is empty, I'll put up the second one. I'll probably post a picture in a few days.

He may be too heavy to fly after such a big lunch.
As the Chinese restaurant owner said to the guy who pulled his chair right up to the buffet -"You go home now, you scare my wife."

Still haven't gotten one of these guys to come to our feeder yet. Hoping a new suet recipe will work. Fun picture!

Abe - the downys are plentiful here - but only a pair of hairys right now.

Salty- ha - Abe has me beat hands down! I'm going to give the titmouse a 2nd chance to like me.

Eve - I think he's still there eating!

Jayne - thank you!

Hannibal - thanks - I'm feeding both at home and up at the cabin. I have my own brady bunch!!

Daisy - and I keep adding more feeders to feed their addiction!

Gardener - join the downy fun!

Deborah - he's not the cleanest eater - LOL!

Betsy - love those red bellys!

Patsy - thank you so much for coming by!

Richard - looking forward to seeing your feeder and what you get!

Muse - I know the comedian you are talking about! ha,ha - "you eat vegetable - you so fat!"

Dave - I really need to start making my own suet - I hear the birds prefer the homemade stuff.

I love that picture. Thank you for sharing. I don't think I've ever seen a wood pecker that close. He's really quite lovely.

And from the looks of him he is going fast to keep the other birds from getting it before him. Messy eater.
