A little visitor

My hubby opened the door to our cabin and a baby Chickadee flew in. He hit the window and was stunned. I put my fingers by him and he hopped right up. He clung to me for a while and kept panting, probably in shock. I checked him over and he looked okay. Of course you all know how much I enjoyed holding that little angel in my hand, I kept wanting to pet him like a dog, but I did refrain!

I took him outside and after about 5 minutes, he flew away. What was funny is earlier the adult chickadees kept landing on my shoulder while I was trying to fill the bird feeders. They really are cheeky little things!

I love to feed chickadee's at the park near my house. I love how they eat right from your hand.

And I must say your chickadee pictures are AWESOME.

BTW, I found your blog courtesy Jannie Funster's Blog.

oh actually, it was from a blog that was showcased at Jannie's blog that had your blog in the blog list. I forget which blog.. but they posted about bacon.

Fun to hold them, isn't it? I haven't held a Chickadee, but several Cardinals and a Goldfinch hit our window and I got to hold them until they could fly. Neat!

Oh how sweet... Glad you soothed that little fellow until he felt better. Chickadees are so sweet... AND--like you said, they are almost friendly. So are the Nuthatches...

Hugs,
Betsy

We have had several different birds hit our window and we saved them too..the important part is to keep them upright and to keep stimulating them...the biggest one we had was a Flicker, and he was GORGEOUS!
Isn't it the neatest feeling to feel their little heartbeat in your hands?

What a magical moment that must have been. They must be so fearless and trusting too, to land on your shoulder.

You gotta love the Chickadees, and a baby--well! I'm glad the little guy was okay. Too bad you won't be able to know which one he is when the Chickadees are at your feeder.

You are right, they are cheeky little things! They do wait right near-by while I fill the feeders and they are so cheerful and bold.

Good thing you got such a great picture of him.

Don't you just love to hold those wild feathery things, just even for a few moments. Always happy when they get their birdie wits about them and take off!

That is so sweet!! I have a few around here. I wish they'd come over and land on me but I'm inside and just hanging out the window. Ha! I love those little birds! What a treat to have those birds land on you the way they do!!

Aren't chickadees just the sweetest little things? The ones here haven't landed on me yet, but they do swoop close while I'm filling their feeders. Maybe one day, I will hold on in my hand as you have. What a great moment!
