A beauty ! I'm heading up to a remote cabin at the end of the month. Last year there was a Barred Owl that flew down to investigate me early one morning. Hopefully he'll be back....
Just thought I would let you know that we have a baby Barred Owl that is hanging around the house for the past two weeks. He is only about 9 inches tall and we see him every other day. Believe it or not he will eat dog food and raw steak. I hope that he does not leave.

That is a beautiful bird. Those eyes look right through you.
Gosh I just love owls, aren't they so beautiful? I saw a snowy owl once, take off in flight from a tree. That was my only time.
So nice to see so much detail.

Such a gorgeous bird and one I have yet to see.
The "under-feathers" really ARE downy looking. Makes ya want to feel how soft they are.
I'm hoping to hear "who cooks for you" in my woods some day!
