The sound of birds stops the noise in my mind.- Carly Simon
That has got to be the BEST shot of a cardinal I have EVER seen! WAY TO GO..... Happy Summer!
....he IS gorgeous!! Love all that red and the curious look in his eye--do you think he's looking for a peanut? ;-)

That IS red Shelley!A stunner. You certainly couldn't miss him. :)
I love the Carly Simon quote that put along side your great photo!
He is a beautiful red! He looks like he's a little exasperated with you. Did you not put out his favorite food?
LOL... he looks to be saying, "OK, lady, are you done yet?" He's glorious!
Oh, that's beautiful! Nuf said.
Stunning picture of a most beautiful bird! His birdy face expression is priceless!
We have only seen a cardinal ONCE in our yard! We had to go downstate to get pix of them. He sure IS red!!
Isn't he incredible! I think he see's you too! ; ) You just can't help but love the Cardinals.Sharon
What a beautiful close up of him Shelly!!
He's a beauty!
He is a beauty! I love seeing them in the yard, only not on my raspberry bushes.
Great shot of this pretty bird! Our Cardinal have been bright red, too.
Great photograph. I just love his expression.
VERY red and beautiful! My cardinals look like they have been through a war zone and I have a couple of bald ones. I don't think anyone would have chosen them as state bird the way they look right now.
A lovely shade of red.
He must be the top dog of cardinals Shelley! Good luck with your loons this weekend.
Spectacular Cardinal. It's probably the reddest I've ever seen too. Great shot. Have a great weekend. ~Cindy
He is most definitely RED.Well done. Blessings,Ruth
He must have read your blog post about the drought in birds and flew your way to make up for it.He is absolutely gorgeous! We only had ONE here, ever and it was in the winter. It was beautiful on a snowy branch and get this: BETWEEN TWO bluejays!!! By the time I ran for my camera it was GONE. I was devastated.I am so glad you captured this one...it is a real beauty.
Shelly: What a neat Cardinal in bright red. I now don't have to be jealous of you getting to visit with George and Betsy.
Those brilliant red ones are said to be the little hotties of the cardinal world!! So you should be seeing him being chased all over by those cardinal groopies!! Neat picture, Shelley
Wonderful shot of the Cardinal! He is sooo red. Good work!
My old high school mascot!! Love him, he's so "pur-ty pur-ty pur-ty"
WOW--beautiful, Shelley! Very red indeed! :)
Very pretty bird indeed.54th Wedding Anniversary Today
Beautiful! I like how close he is and how you captured the gleam in the eye.
I haven't seen a cardinal since the winter... sigh!
Nice! Certainly hard to disagree with the statement that is for sure!
He is even puzzled over his color. :)
Red for sure!!! A real close up beauty!
Red and also the closed shot I guess. Like the turn of the head...Thomas
That is a stunning cardinal! Beautiful shot!
I'll say he is RED! A close encounter with this handsome male!!!I left you a comment before and somehow it didn't get posted...I hope I don't mess up a lot and think the comment went...I probably didn't spell the word right and just clicked...geesh ;-)
