This photo made me laugh because the Downy was looking around like he knew someone else was on the feeder and there was the Nuthatch peeking from the other side.

Shelley---That Downy doesn't want to share does he????? Cute picture.
Hope you are feeling better.
Hugs,
Betsy
I use to have a feeder similar to this one. This is a very Christmassy photo. Perhaps the nuthatch is coming for Christmas dinner?
Awww..love the little downy fella and the nutty..
Nice photo shelly, I really enjoy the woodpeckers. Can't quite capture one though, it will come soon enough I guess.
Thanks for following my blog and leaving such kind comments!

It's always fun for me to see when there are several species of birds sharing and getting along with one another at one specific moment of time. It's a good feeling.
He wasn't giving it up until he was ready. The Nuthatch was just going to have to wait.
Hi Shelley, you get such great light in your photos, how do you do that??? That red patch on the male downy looks to me like it's puffed up to warn the nuthatch away. There's enough there to share! (-:
I love how the nut hatch is just peeking over. It is so fun to watch the various birds interact with one another.
Ha Ha! I've seen this silly behavior before!
Birds have not found our feeds yet but as soon as the little gray squirrel that lives in the tree in the back yard fines the sunflower seeds they will.
This photo of the Downy looking the wrong way for the other bird reminds me of our pets. Whenever the 2 cats "fight" our dachshund runs to break them up BUT.......she always runs the wrong way!!!
Shelly: Beautiful capture of the two birds. It is fun when you get this kind of a photo.
Beautiful!I'd say you have a perfect Christmas card photo for next year.
Blessings,Ruth
Cute! I bet they played hide and seek for awhile...
Really made me chuckle, too! I guess that's how wary you have to be when you're a bird!
Two of my favorite birds AND snow! Doesn't get much better than that!
How cute! I love the downy's little red hat, don't you? Happy new year to you and your birdies, my dear bloggy friend!
I like that bird feeder, Your photo looks like a pretty Christmas card. Pigeon
What a great photo! I love it! The snow is beautiful - but I'm glad it's not here.
Sweet, sweet picture. Hope you are feeling better.

This was a great winter scene photo..so festive looking with the snow, the pines and of course those great birds. Hope you are feeling better and are ready to usher in a new and better year! Here's to you, may it be a good one!

What a cute little plump Mr. Downy.
yes it is nice to share and thank you for sharing with us these beautifull photos.
What a beautiful picture! And I echo 'Kathiesbirds' in saying it's such a Christmassy photo, with the thatch of the Downy adding just the right touch of colour :)
