What the snow will bring

We are driving up to our log cabin this afternoon. There's a lot of snow (our area has already had 70 inches of snowfall) and it will be very cold. I can't wait to see my "log cabin birds." Will the eagle fly by? Will the pileated allow me a better shot of him? Will the chickadees continue to eat from my hand? I am anxious to find out!

Shelly: Really neat shot of the woodpecker. 70", I thought our 18" was a lot. You must be in a lake effect area.

I know it will be beautiful, but unlike Lynne, I do not envy you. This southern girl is not a snow bunny!

Brrr..What beautiful photos - The downy doesn't seem to mind the cold - and I love that tall, skinny tree with the snow piled on the branches.

Is that a Hairy with the black bar in the middle of his red? The same one Richard keeps talking about?
