Downy or hairy, they sure are block hogs.
Haha! That's what she thinks! But at least she is first in line ;-) Great picture!
My Downy (who looks just like yours) came to our suet feeder several times today also. He is nice to share with the Nuthatches and the Carolina Chickadee. Our Red-bellied prefers the sunflower and safflower.. Who knows?!!!Hugs,Betsy
HA, and he it looks quite happy that it is all for me! I love howits staring at thet suet decided on where to nible first!
This photo reminds me of myself when I sneak off and eat a candy bar!
I like yours better than mine today Shelley! She's beautiful. :c)
This just reminded me... I need to get some more suet cakes! The kids love seeing the woodpeckers.
Lucky little feller!
Great shot.I'm sure he was going to have a good lunch. Blessings,Ruth
Neat picture of the little Downy. She won't likely have it all to herself for long.
Oh so precious little woodpecker! Your photo is wonderful!
They are always faithful. Downy or Hairy they are my regulars at the suet feeder.
...so cute!! Right now, she would have to fight off the starlings for a bit of suet in my yard!
We love the Woodpeckers too. Our budgie Jax is singing away as the male Downy is just outside our kitchen window on the suet basket :-)The photo on your "giveaway" post is fantastic Shelley!
Lucky bird :)
Great picture, and the suet looks mighty tasty! How's your snow situation up there?
Hmmmmmm. It is looking a bit on the porky side. What's the latest diat fad over there across the pond? (-:
She better eat all she can...b/c when those starlings arrive..it's history!
Ah, Shelley; you've been posting some gorgeous images!

Love the photo Shelley! When a Downy shows up on our suet feeder, it always lands on the narrow edge, looking at both sides several times trying to decide which side it wants to eat from.
Ah where to start?
Gorgeous photo! Purrr--fect!
HA! Shelley, I always find a smile here. Thank you. :)
I guess you and I are woodpecker happy...
