Common Redpoll - Part II

Here's a few more Common Redpoll photos. I loved watching them squabble with the Pine Siskins over the Thistle Feeder. Suffice it to say - they are just as feisty!

Beautiful Shelley... I love those Redpolls. Amazing how many little birds are in the Finch family... The Redpolls are really prettier than the Pine Siskins aren't they??? Of course I love those little red heads.

Thanks...

Betsy

Great pictures. I tried to count mine today and gave up after 50. They just won't set still long enough to be counted. And every day I seem to be getting more and more of them.

What an unusual looking bird! He looks like had some of our red powder (which in India is used in the parting of the hair or for putting the dots on the forehead)splashed on him--like a blessing :)

I love how they look like they accidentally got raspberry colored paint splashed on them!

These are beautiful birds, but I don't see any of these at our feeder. Good shots!

The little red heads are so delicately cute, and any bird taking on those feisty siskins must be very entertaining to watch.

I have never seen one of these. Haven't looked in the book, but probably too far south. He is a pretty thing!

Thanks for the pictures. I just saw one at our feeder in Dexter (4/14/2011) and couldn't believe it was a Redpoll. Beautiful little bird.
