When are my Loons coming back?

I am counting the days to my beloved Loons' return. I promise to be a good loon ranger. I promise to pick up any discarded fishing line I find in the lake. I promise to shoot my photos from a comfortable distance. Hopefully they find all my promises acceptable. (And yes - my friends and family still laugh about the fact that I'm a Michigan Loon Ranger. I wish I had authority to fine them penalities!)

We're headed up to the log cabin. My hubby had a rough week at work with a bad ex-employee so I think a weekend of snow shoeing and birdwatching is just what the doctor ordered. Have a good weekend and I will catch up with all of your blogs on Sunday. (Maybe a few before then if the dial up at the cabin doesn't drive me crazy first!

Tell me about those spammers. Grrr.
Now that you have chosen to reflect on Minnesota's "state bird", I commend you for your excellent taste in avian subjects.

This time of year is so tough. We see little signs of spring and then mother nature takes them away. But it's coming! And so are your Loons!

Beautiful photo!

Enjoy your weekend! "specially your hubby after a rough work week. If I see any of your loons down here I'll tell them to go north. I see a lot of loons, but most of them don't fly.

Great Loon Photo. I love seeing birds in Flight. Have fun snow shoeing. Stacey and I were also thinking of going up towards Mt. Baker here in Washington state with our shoes too.

Shelley, that's such a beautiful "in flight" shot of the loon. Keep your eyes peeled for them; it shouldn't be too much longer, should it?

I'm looking forward to the loons also. They should be showing up in my area very soon.

Nice flying shot but then any shot of a loon is a good shot :)
