You are so lucky to get to see red polls. I have not seen any in a long time. I used to see them in Alaska up in the artic circle and occasionally in the mountains. They seem to adapt well to extreme cold.
Redpolls make me think of late to leave birds, which makes me think of Killdeer, in which 2 just came back a few minutes ago. Sorry...I'm all caught up in Spring! It's back!

My birdies are all fluffing up as our wather has turned cold and may snow. I say enough. Sharon
Oh My, Shell--You must have given him too much Chocolate Pie!!!!!! He's a little tubby--wouldn't you say????
They say that when the PIne Siskins get really fat and lethargic--they are sick.
Glad that the Redpoll showed you his RED.
Hugs,
Betsy
That certain does look like a stern look of disapproval to me. Nice shot!

I wish I was as cute as the redpoll when I am fat and mad.
Shell, you have the most divine bird photos and posts that I ever did see. I hope this blog turns into a book one day. :D
Outstanding, girl!!!

Hi Shelley,
I love these guys!! They are so cute!!
Wonderful pictures, I love the attitude!!
Congrats.
Sigh, how I love those little birds. The second photo is fabulous!
BTW: Love your new profile picture!
So cute! They always look as if someone dropped a plop of raspberry jam on their heads. :c)
Beautiful pictures.
Nice pics and Janes comment about a drop of rasberry jam hits it right on the head. oops.
Almost sounds like Dr. Suess book dialogue :-) Cute and they do look both fat and mad in these shots!
I'm really going to miss the Redpolls when they fly away home.
Shelly: Is the bird made at you for showing the weight it picked up this winter. You better be carefull it may get back at you.
Sweet photos Shelley!
During the last snowstorm, a Common Redpoll sat on a limb all puffed out and just looked around for a god 20 minutes.
The other 40 raided the feeders!

That Redpoll sure has a nice bright red poll!!
...the little mad fellow is adorable. Would love to see one in person.
Well, gee! Maybe he will have to join Weight Watchers! Do they have a chapter for birds? :D
Hey!!! You stole my redpolls!!!!
Ha Ha!!
LOL..thanks..I needed that today.. Michelle
He's getting fat on the seeds you're feeding him - what's he got to be mad about? Silly bird. But seriously, very nice photos.
Shelley,
He is a little plump!! ...and now he has to fly that body to his next home..could be a tough flight!! Cute pictures!!
Oh nice, I love that bottom pic.
These birds are so pretty. Would love to see one! They don't come this far south.
