I vote,he drinks first and let the other birds deal with the rest.
LOL...it is so true isn't it? It has been cold, I've had doves in my trees hanging around waiting for the feeders...There is something sweet about them...
Decisions, decisions...
I love Mourning Doves. They seem gentle to me.
Hopefully he is smart enough to drink first. But sometimes have to wonder about the birds, bees, animals, etc.
Hi! Thank you for visiting my blog. I love all your photos of birds. You've got some great pictures here! :D
Well who knows????? ha..... I know that I clean alot of poop off of the sides of my birdbath.. Luckily, most of it doesn't go in the water!!!! (Thank Goodness! ha)
My Doves aren't too bright and build flat sloppy nests on the outward limbs of my pine trees which is an open invitation to the hawks so maybe Bob will poop first....lol!
LOL Shelley... that's about right!
Shelly: Good laugh, that remark surprised me.
If he poops now, he can drink the water. If he turns around and poops, I suggest finding the next watering hole, cuz this one is now a toilet. Dumb birds, but adorable!
They don't refer to "bird brain" for nothing. Actually I love my dove family which has remained in my pine trees for over two years.
BOB figure it out!!!!!!!!
Mourning doves are beautiful. I love their cooing and how they sit on wires watching everything.
Great photo and post, Shell!!!
Hugs, JJ
hahahha, love ruth's comment!!!
I agree.
actually they are all funny!!
I agree w/ Sandy - I thought my post was kind of funny - but all of your comments are way funnier!!
P.S. I have to clean my birdbath at least a couple times a day due to those doves dipping their tail in the water and using it as a toilet. with that said - i still like them....kind of.
Stop over to my blog and pick up another Award.
Shelley, you have a great blog. I've enjoyed seeing all your birds--and your cat. Excellent photos by the way.
I haven't seen my birds since Sunday. Dark when I leave, dark when I get home. Birding has to be a weekend thing. I do manage to stumble around in the dark and fill the feeders every evening;)

ohhh not a decision I would want to make... poor bird!...from what I know of doves, if he had to really make that decision he will be there for a long time..and then nature will take its course make it for him! lol
..funny post!
When my father in law had a stroke and sat and watched out the window..he would call me and say now watch this bird or that one...as they sat on his birdbath, took a bath, a drink and then pooped before they left! Funny you should say that but it is sooooo true! That's what they do.. Thanks
To poop or not to poop. That is the question. Et tu Poopay?
LOL!!!
