Woow, I guess you were!!! I would have been too. Nice to be able to approach birds with a kayak. It helps to get nice pictures of they are not too scare. I love this shot of the bufflehead!!!

THANK YOU FOR THAT PHOTO OF THE DUCKS! We have a pair on the lagoon and I had no idea what kind they were. I haven't taken the time to look them up in our bird book so THANKS!!!
I love it! I want to go canoeing down our river but worry about my camera. How do you kayak with your camera?
Shelley I love your perspective of the lake that you share with us from the kayak, it puts you right there. The Bufflehead Duck is beautiful and I find all the pictures taken in blogs I follow are special because I know a little about the person taking the pictures!
Not heard of a Bufflehead before, but he looks a handsome chap.Great looking stretch of water too.
Beautiful! Interesting how we find so many treasures when we are searching for something else.
Beautiful...I'd be excited, too!
That's a beautiful lake. Really like the shot from the boat. The Bufflehead is a neat photo too. Looks like a nice place!
The serene beauty of a quiet lake and a Bufflehead seen from a kayak... excellent capture. When we are out in our canoe, we use a medium sized "Space Bag" to keep the camera in while it's not being used. If the canoe tips and throws everything in the water, at least the camera and lenses are protected.
That first shot is just out of this world - very cool, Shelley!!! And you did a great job with the bufflehead! I can tell your Loons are going to be on another level this year with that new lens, girl!
Aren't they just the coolest things? Great picture. I'll try the size thing on the photos.
Thank you everyone for stopping by! I used my smaller lens on this kayaking ride. Didn't think I could manuever a kayak, tripod and the bigger lens - LOL~!
Canoeing a beautiful lake has got to one of the best ways to bird. And you got to do it. Lucky you!
Hey..I would be excited just to be on the water....What a life you have....
Two classic shots - love the lake and the reflection -such peace!
The lake photo is wonderful. Didn't see a loon photo. Are you saving it, or didn't see one?Leedra’s Photos For FunLeedra’s Greeting CardsPhotography By Leedra
lovely Bufflehead S :-) You can get very close with those Kayaks !
I love the view from your kayak! That is one pretty duck. You are blessed to have such beauty nearby.
Just the kayaking would be fun! Seriously, I think you need to start running a birding bed and breakfat there at the cabin. Do you cook breakfast as well as you take pictures?
I love buffleheads - such beautiful little ducks! They passed through here recently but are probably just about gone by now.
What a cutie..Love the buffleheads.Is that your lake..or a river?
Oooh! He's a pretty one ! Great shot, Shelley! :D
