Woow, I guess you were!!! I would have been too. Nice to be able to approach birds with a kayak. It helps to get nice pictures of they are not too scare. I love this shot of the bufflehead!!!
Whoa, how you kayak and hold that new camera and lens? What a brave girl you are..such nice steady pics!! Glad to see such nice serene waters...hope you find those loons..such a beautiful bird!!
THANK YOU FOR THAT PHOTO OF THE DUCKS! We have a pair on the lagoon and I had no idea what kind they were. I haven't taken the time to look them up in our bird book so THANKS!!!
Shelley I love your perspective of the lake that you share with us from the kayak, it puts you right there. The Bufflehead Duck is beautiful and I find all the pictures taken in blogs I follow are special because I know a little about the person taking the pictures!
The serene beauty of a quiet lake and a Bufflehead seen from a kayak... excellent capture.
When we are out in our canoe, we use a medium sized "Space Bag" to keep the camera in while it's not being used. If the canoe tips and throws everything in the water, at least the camera and lenses are protected.
Thank you everyone for stopping by! I used my smaller lens on this kayaking ride. Didn't think I could manuever a kayak, tripod and the bigger lens - LOL~!
Just the kayaking would be fun! Seriously, I think you need to start running a birding bed and breakfat there at the cabin. Do you cook breakfast as well as you take pictures?

Not heard of a Bufflehead before, but he looks a handsome chap.
Great looking stretch of water too.
