"I'm getting very sleepy....."
Zzzzzz!!
I wanted to share a few Loon videos with you. This first one shows a nesting Loon, if you watch closely, you'll see the loon chick come out from underneath its mother's wing.
And here's a "Loon Concert" for your listening enjoyment.
And now my Loon week has truly ended! I need to start paying attention to my other birds as well. Bob the Mourning Dove is getting cranky! (P.S. His baby is doing well! I'll try to get photos this week.)

What a rare treat both these videos are for me. You should see my two cats looking all over for the noise!!!
Glad to hear Bob's baby is doing well. Take care and have a nice week Shelley.
....oh my goodness....what a beautiful video of the mama and baby. Loved hearing the loon concert too. How lucky you are to be a part of their world. I would love to see/hear that some day.
Hi Shelly,
I didn't know that a Loon could sleep while floating on the water!
The Mother Loon in the first video is very beautiful and watchful. I think her chick wants to get out and get something to eat! The pattern of her feathers is mesmerizing!
The concert is haunting and I can see why you love this place so much! Thanks so much for posting.
Wonderful concert Shelley.
And that clip of the chick is a beauty.
nice photos
A loon baby!! How adorable! I love hearing them calling across the lake.
The Mom and her baby-darling! I am speechless. What a bond they have, that baby LOVES Mom. Thanks so much for adding that to your blog for us to see.
I think I am a Loon Lover!
Good news about Bob's baby, pictures, YES!
The videos are wonderful thanks for sharing them. I'm sorry to see the "loon week" ending.
Great videos!
Beautiful images of the Loon...Shelley. Well shot
Shelley - great post! Loved both the videos. Their song is so haunting. That little baby is just sooo cute. Thank you for sharing those!
I loved the videos and the sleepy Loon on the water. Great post, Shelley.
It must be so wonderful to just be out in the middle of the lake with the loons. Enjoyed the videos.
Patsy
Oh! That baby is so adorable!!! The mom sure watches carefully all around for predators. Love the Loon on the water photo. I bet you hate to come back Shelly.
Fabulous post.Photos and video were great.Thanks.
Blessings,Ruth
Loved the loon videos! I'm new to Minnesota and love to hear them pass through on their way up north. Such a mournful/wonderful sound.
Enjoyed finding your blog!
That video was amazing, haunting and wonderful, all at the same time. Thank you so much for sharing it.
Shelley: Witnessing new life appear..one needs only to look and listen when you are one with nature!
A beautiful example of Spring's rebirth..thank you for sharing this
precious moment of mother and offspring as Mother Nature intended.
That Loon's making ME sleepy! HA! Loved those videos, especially the concert. I so wish we had loons on Walloon Lake. Guess it's just not the right habitat - I don't think there's enough forest around Walloon for them. Glad to hear Bob's baby is doing okay.
Lovely photos of the sleepy loon and the videos are wonderful. Are you sure loon week is over?
That baby loon is sooooooo cute! Such a tiny little beak. Adorable.
Wonderful Shelley! No wonder you're addicted!
I loved hearing the loons on your lake! What a concert!
Shelly: What a wonderful look at the Loons. Both videos are outstanding. Keep the Loons coming to us.
Hi Shelly. What a treat - the sound concerts were fabulous & I can now fully understand your love of this location and it's inhabitants. Lol FAB.
That's some really cool stuff, Shelly. Especially liked the video of the mother loon in the nest with the chick. The loon audio was great too. It reminded me of seeing the old movie "On Golden Pond". As long ago as that was, I think it was the last time I heard that sound, since I have not seen any loons in person.
Great photos, Shelley. It is hard to capture detail in the eye of a dark headed bird, but the eye stands out in the first one.
I enjoyed the videos as well. They have a beautiful call.
Love your videos, Shelley! The loon calls out on the lake are just one more reason for you to turn ye olde log cabin into a bed and breakfast...I'd say you could probably charge in the 150 to 175 a night category with all the birding opportunities. Start practicing your breakfasts, and you can add another business to your repetoire!
Loved the loon songs---very haunting. Nice photos of the sleeper too. :D
Oh, how hauntigly beautiful, wet, gray, blue, and wonderful all of that was! Loved the loon concert and the mama loon and chick! You are truly blessed to be able to see and film these birds!
