Seems like my only choices in birds this past week are either Blue Jays or my gang of Mourning Doves. The Blue Jays have been visiting more frequently throughtout the day and really loving the bird bath.
What's wrong with this tree?
Escuse me, but I think the Mourning Doves have pooped in the bird bath again. Can you clean this up?

hahaha, those dirty birds...
good shots.
What is it that some people have against jays and mouring doves? The doves are so sweet and the jays well...feisty!
Are you sure that jay said "excuse me" Mine are not that polite!
Sandy - thank you!
Troutbirder - Nothing against them...maybe trying my patience a little bit when 12 mourning doves use the birdbath as a toilet - ha,ha!
Birdlady - you caught me on that one! More than likely it was "Hey lady!"
Gorgeous shots - love the 2nd one especially!
I've had about 15 blue jays cleaning up after the turkeys for about three weeks now. Chickadees and both nuthatches are also showing up in noticeable numbers too - no snowflakes though!
I think Jays are one of my favorite birds. They are always about, not shy, and set long enough so you can get good pictures. They are also good watch dogs.
And doves are a close second. When the coo you get the feeling that all is right with the world despite what the media says.
But the Blue Jays are such beautiful birds. I love them, but have to go to the park beside the lake to see them. I agree with Richard about the cooing. They are so calming, my husband doesn't like them because they eat all the food in one day.
KJ - thank you - I thought the 2nd shot was better too.
Dave - wow - 15 bluejays?!
Richard - I agree about the bjays being good watchdogs. I watched one flush out 2 eagles out of the trees.
Leedra - those doves do kind of have bad food manners!
Onedia - The bluejays are taking over!
Again, great captions.
