Last juvenile Robin of the season?

I think this is it. I think this is my last baby Robin of the season. I'll miss their speckled chests as they run and stop, run and stop and then run and stop some more on my grass. Till next spring my friend....

It's so funny to watch them at this stage with their siblings. One will find a juicy worm and the others will come running over as if to either try and share or say, "Wow! Look what he found!" :c)

Love the light in the 1st image - he's almost regal looking!

Love the photographs of the little Robins. They are such fun to watch and all too often we take them for granted.

We have robins on the back part of our land where the pasture is but not too much around the house (probably because of the cats). Great photos. Joan

A bittersweet moment as we see the last days of summer here, isn't it? As much as I look forward to the fall season and celebrating my boys' birthdays, I am not looking forward to the longer nights. I think that is what I miss the most in the cooler months - the daylight. I look forward to the postings that you share to help brighten the days though. Nice photos of the birds.

Very nice light on your Robin shots. And I could just see them run and stop as you described what they do! I really like Robins.

I think we had a bumper crop of Eastern Bluebirds. Have not seen that many Robins this year. The ones I have seen have not been in my yard, but other places

I've been seeing my house finches and goldfinches feeding babies the last few weeks. Your robins are adorable.

Jayne - that is cute!

Birdlady - yes - definitely a good year for robins and dare I say it - Mourning Doves!!

KJ - I know he would like that regal compliment! :-)

NC - You're right that sometimes we do take them for granted - they are beautiful in their own right!

Eco - thanks so much! (My kitty LOVES watching them from the window)

Christy - you're right about bittersweet. I think this was the 1st time that I took notice of all the bird babies - now I have to wait till next spring.

Hannibal - glad you liked the lighting - I'm trying to get a 1/4 as good as Klaus, you and birdlady are!

Jalynn - you've gotta love it when they suddenly stop running and cock their head - something so comical about that!

Leedra - I'm envious - always wanted to see a bluebird!

Birdgirl - thanks! :-)

Jessica - I love the finch babies too!!

We had a small flock of juvenile robins feasting in our mountain ash (now laden with berries) the other day.

Two years ago, we had robins nest in a basket of pansies hanging on our front porch. I put some photos on my blog at the time:

Your bird photos are truly lovely, shellmo.
