Some of my favorites - Part III

Anyone who knows me, knows that I love the Loons best!
I love their haunting call, the way their chicks ride on their back and admire what good parents they are. And have you ever seen such beautiful black and white patterns in feathers such as theirs?

Althought there are loons here Shelley, I don't get to see them very often. They are beautiful and just so sweet. My guineas have maybe the second best most beautiful feathers though!! I will have to post them someday. They are little treasures left for me in the yard!!!

I agree, loons are very special birds and you always do a great job getting loon shots.

When we lived on the ocean in Nova Scotia, we used to see loons in winter, in their less exciting plumage, but for the year we lived on a lake in Quebec, we got to see them in their fancier outfits! I think they are just gorgeous birds, and I love hearing their calls.

I kept eyeing that pattern on the back, and then you said it. It is beautiful. This one photograph points out why they are your favorite.
