We love watching the Woodpeckers grabbing great big chunks of suet. Usually they have to wait their turn as the squirrels are at the suet baskets first :-) Great photo!
My Red-Bellied Woodpeckers do the same thing--grab a peanut or seed from the feeder and fly away to the tree. They're fun birds to watch and listen to.
I agree with Craig, probably decided on the tummy. Or has a hole there somewhere that is stuffed very well.
Great caption with the photo.
I have added a new blog. Hope you will choose to follow it, it will be the one I will post at daily now. Although I will still be posting at the original one.
What an amazing photograph.... well captured and awesome camera.... thanks for bringing joy and for bringing me a little closer to nature every time I come here....
Firstly this a gorgeous shot. You get a better veariety of birds than I do and taht's living near a nature reserve.Hope you don't mind me contacting but we have been hit by the same spammer and I too have left a message not to spam my blog. I have also flagged the blog in question too. You may want to check your back posts as I had the month of august spammed.

I love that picture. He looks so cute with the suet in his mouth.
So many choices!! But if it were me and it was a Reece's Peanut Butter cup, I would eat it!!!
"Hmmm, I'm kind of lichen that spot right there..."

Love the colors on these guys! So striking in the winter time...he does look a little puzzled about what to do next??A good problem to have tho..

First of all I would go to the other side of the tree where no one can see me.......
Wow,the red of his cap looks like it is glowing.Very pretty.

Maybe he will give it to his loved one? How cute!
Unfortunately I have a very sad junco story on my end and I feel real bad!

I love the red belly.... and the downy and the hairy and the pileated...... I just love woodpeckers!
Shelly: what a neat capture of the woodpecker.
Another beauty...
That red head is glowing! It surely has a stashing point on the other side of that tree!
Great shot! We have several varieties of woodpecker around here and I see them frequently. They are fun to watch aren't they?
It is funny and fun to watch where the birds restash their food that they get from the feeders.
Such a sweetheart!
Swallow it, silly! Lovely picture. I really like seeing them hold the food for a while before gulping it down.
