Molty Loons

My adult loons are molting and getting ready for their drab winter coloring. While these photos don't have the clarity I would've liked - I wanted to share their "poses."

Interesting to watch the molting. Glad you are there to capture it for us.

I am struggling to get resultsas good as this with the new camera...learning by shooting 300 shots and keeping 10.

Your shots of the Loons are lovely. We get Loons on Bull Shoals Lake in Winter so I look forward to seeing them.

Birdlady - thank you!

Jayne - I think so! (which is why I take a thousand pics of them - LOL!)

NC - Glad you don't find it boring yet!

Onedia - how lucky you are to have them in the winter! Now I'm jealous...

They are well worth sharing. I like the 2nd one best. Sometimes we are a lot harder on ourselves than other people are.

Thanks for sharing all the loon photos and stories this summer. How long do the loons stay? Will they be migrating soon?
