I have a gang of about 6 goldfinches hanging around the log cabin- they are rivaling my chickadee crowd. Something about the finches song makes my cat want to fling himself against every window until he has brain damage! I'm happy to have them!

Shelley, Wonder if your Goldfinch are cousins of mine???? We have about 10 of them (lots of little ones) at our feeders right now!!!! I hope they are still here in Spring when their yellow colors become much more vivid. Beautiful birds!!! I'm sure they LOVE teasing Kitty!!!
I always love your pictures! They're amazing!
Thanks - you just reminded me, time to check the level of Windex in the spray bottle. Why? To get the cat nosemarks off the inside of the window now that the feeders are seeing more action.
Wonderful Shelley,
A flock just showed up at my feeder today!
Love their little rear-ends all lined up!
Love the buffed up bird butts all lined up as they eat!! Poor kitty!
Great shots, as usual...love your comments! lol
...imagining your cat 'flinging' itself on to the window. How funny!
I am expecting to see my flock again soon. And, when I say flock, I mean FLOCK of hundreds we get here. I posted a photo last year of 77 on the ground, which didn't even take into consideration the ones on the feeders. :c)
We also have tons of Goldfinches right now. They fill every post at every feeder. While we don't have a cat, our dogs do enjoy watching them at the feeders.
Betsy - I'm hoping more show up!
hillgrandmom - thank you! I'm hoping to pick up a better lens soon.
Deborah - lol - the windex gets a lot of use at our cabin~!
Eve - they seem to be right on time!
Birdlady - I thought it was cute too!
Tina- my kitty is tortured by them - lol!
Denise - he doesn't learn! :-)
jayne - now I'd love to see your flock! that would be great to have so many!
NC - hopefully one day when I get a doggie - he can join the kitty at the window and tell him to quit hitting his head - lol!
You are lucky. Have more trees at the home away from home. Will be putting feeders up there, in hopes....
The goldfinches have lost their spring and summer brilliance but I still love them.
Lovely Goldfinches. We're lucky if we see them here in the winter
Shelly: Really funny with your brain damaged cat, neat post and great photos.
